Family Medicine

Clinical medicine is built on a foundation of basic medical sciences.

The Family Medicine Clerkship allows student to focus on perfecting their approach to the diagnosis and management of undifferentiated patient problems. During this clerkship students will be able to perfect their history taking skills to create a differential diagnosis, and focus on the assessment and management of common acute and chronic problems. This clerkship focuses on the principles of comprehensive and continuous care for patients and their families stemming from the core foundational basic science curriculum. The clerkship also emphasizes the principles of health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.
