Nephrology Clerkship

Clinical medicine is built on a foundation of basic medical sciences.

The nephrology clerkship is intended to provide the student with hands on experience in the evaluation and treatment of various conditions related to nephrology. The student will be expected to perform a patient history utilizing hypothesis testing to create a list of differential diagnosis and from there discuss the treatment and management of acute and chronic renal diseases. Additionally the student will be expected to know risk factors, and management of risk factors to prevent disease advancement if possible, and must be able to identify the first line therapy for common renal disorders.
