Infectious Diseases Clerkship
Examine and manage Infectious Diseases across diverse patient cases.
The goal of the Infectious Diseases clerkship is to expose the student to a variety of patients presenting with common and uncommon bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic diseases. Students will become familiarized with the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with both common and unusual infectious diseases. They will be expected to take a detailed patient history, do a physical exam that utilizes hypothesis testing, and order and interpret lab tests that support their differential diagnosis.
